Using dry shampoo with cerebral palsy

My shower has been fixed so I can now shower and wash my hair independently again! Yay!

Although my mum was on hand while it was broken to tip buckets of water over me while it was out of action, I decided to buy some dry shampoo for the first time just in case, and I thought it would be a good excuse for me to try it out.

Feeling invisible

Today I am annoyed.
I’ve been out shopping with my boyfriend and we took my wheelchair instead of my walking frame because we knew there’d be a lot of walking.

The thing is that three of four people today have literally walked into me because they weren’t looking where they were going.

Fun Fact Friday [27]

Hello and welcome to Fun fact Friday, the place where I share facts about myself that aren’t related to my cerebral palsy.

In keeping with what I said last week about wanting to go to the cinema more, I went to see the Shaun the Sheep movie and I was really impressed. Being a Shaun fan anyway I already had high hopes for the movie but it turned out to be even funnier than I was expecting. My ribs ached from laughing so much.

Some more thoughts on my broken shower

Some of you may have noticed that my walk-in shower has been broken this week.

It’s still not totally fixed but sometimes if we’re lucky it will work for a couple of minutes, long enough for one of us to get a really quick wash, and then switch itself off. I think the thermostat must be playing up too because the water isn’t getting very warm like it usually does.

I’ve written quite a few posts about how hard it is for me to wash independently without one, but I’m missing it functioning normally for more reasons that that.
