Some more thoughts on my broken shower

Some of you may have noticed that my walk-in shower has been broken this week.

It’s still not totally fixed but sometimes if we’re lucky it will work for a couple of minutes, long enough for one of us to get a really quick wash, and then switch itself off. I think the thermostat must be playing up too because the water isn’t getting very warm like it usually does.

I’ve written quite a few posts about how hard it is for me to wash independently without one, but I’m missing it functioning normally for more reasons that that.

Fun Fact Friday [22]

Hello and welcome to Fun Fact Friday, the place where I share facts about myself that aren’t linked to my cerebral palsy.

This week I’m really excited to share my fun fact with you all because I took what felt like a pretty big leap and did something I’ve never done before.

Looking back at 2014

2014 has been a busy year here at View From a Walking Frame and in my life away from the blog too. When I starting thinking about writing this post I was amazed a just how much I was going to be able to say. So let’s all grab a cup of tea, sit down, and take a look that the 365 days that were 2014.

Why I decided to write about a girl with Cerebral Palsy for NANOWRIMO

Some of you may know that I spent November taking part in National Novel Writing Month. This year, I decided to try starting a novel about a young girl with CP and in this vlog I explain why:

The waiting game

Let me kick off this post by saying that I’m sorry this post has been a long time coming, well probably not as long as it feels like it’s been to me, bu lots of things have been going on round here and I needed some time to wrap my head around it before I wrote about it.

So, as some of you may have seen on the blog’s Facebook page I’ve had to have a hip x-ray for the hip pain that has been keeping me awake at night for at least six months now because it’s got to the point where it is aching constantly through the day too.

At the recommendation of a physio, I’ve been using a tense machine for the last few days and that’s helped a lot, but I’m still waiting for the x-ray results in the hope that will finally give us some answers. The uncertainty isn’t nice but I’m trying to stay hopeful that it’s nothing too bad, but whatever it is, I’ll deal with it.

I’ve also got appointments with orthotics and physio this month so I’m hoping we can all work together to put something into place that will help

On a lighter note, as some of you may have also noticed, I’m taking part in National Novel Writing Month this month (something which challenges participants to write 50,000 words of a novel in the 30 days of November) which is keeping me pretty busy. I’ve decided to write a story about a 16-year-old girl with Cerebral Palsy.  Who knows, maybe you’ll all get to read it. I want to talk about that some more in another post. It’s the first time I’ve written a character that has the same disability as me so it’s being quite interesting for lots of reasons.

Thanks for sticking with me guys. I’ll hopefully have news for you all about my hip soon.
