Some more thoughts on my broken shower

Some of you may have noticed that my walk-in shower has been broken this week.

It’s still not totally fixed but sometimes if we’re lucky it will work for a couple of minutes, long enough for one of us to get a really quick wash, and then switch itself off. I think the thermostat must be playing up too because the water isn’t getting very warm like it usually does.

I’ve written quite a few posts about how hard it is for me to wash independently without one, but I’m missing it functioning normally for more reasons that that.

Temporarily out of action

My walk-in shower is broken.

This isn’t good, not good at all. In fact, I’m pretty upset about it even though these things happen. I’m hoping it’ll be fixed before too long, and I’m pretty sure the rest of my family are too because it’s the only one we have.

Always there

Today is my boyfriend Rob’s birthday. We’ve been together for six years now and he’s always there to help me when I need him.

Some of you may have seen on the blog’s Facebook page last weekend that he woke up early and came all the way from his house to mine so that he could help me meet my friends in town for lunch.

Surprising myself

If you were to ask me if I ever surprised myself I would say that I do it quite often.

If you were to ask me why I’d tell you that most of the time, these surprises are cerebral palsy-related.

If you were to ask me whether or not I thought this was a good or a bad thing, I would have to tell you that would all depend on exactly what I’d achieved or not achieved that day that I wasn’t expecting.
