That post-bath feeling

As a lot of you will probably know, my family had to give up our bath so that we could have a wet-room bathroom with a walk-in shower installed so that I could wash independently and easily.

While I have no regrets about that decision because the benefits that these adaptations to our home have given me have been enormous and invaluable to say the least, I still miss being able to have a bath, especially on a bad CP day when just about every muscle in my body seems to ache.

I spent some time at my dad’s house last week; he has a tub and my family don’t mind helping me get in and out of it because I can’t do that by myself. Needless to say I decided to have a soak and realised that I miss my bath more than I thought.

Fun Fact Friday [33]

Hello and welcome to Fun Fact Friday, the place where I share facts about myself that aren’t linked to my cerebral palsy.

If I’m honest I don’t think I’ll ever outgrow the habit I had during childhood of enjoying choosing a different colour every time I have to buy a new toothbrush. The one I have at the moment is bright green.

That falling feeling

I often find that feeling like I’m going to fall over is worse than the actual hitting the ground part. Not always,  but sometimes.

I’d say that I manage to stop myself in time a lit more often than I do actually take a tumble. The fact I don’t hurt myself is great,  but so is that fear that I might fall and hurt myself.

Recovering from all the writing

Over the last couple of weeks I spent a lot more time than usual sitting down and writing, both at my desk and in my bed.

Thanks to all this, I got loads of work done and made a huge dent into one of the novel projects I’m working on. As well as all of that, I got rather a lot of back and shoulder ache.
